About Me

Welcome to Life Tracks Training!

I am Elizabeth Minor, PPDT of Life Tracks Training Certified Professional Pet Dog Trainer with Good Dog Academy and Certified Pet First Aid Instructor with Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid. In addition to Life Tracks I owned and operated Pleased Pets, makers of “Meat Muffins” food supplements for dogs. I recently retired this company after a successful production run of twenty-four years.

Like many fellow trainers, I started rescuing animals at an early age, but I always had the strongest passion for dogs. The first three dogs I adopted as a young adult were rescues and their behaviors became the motivation to become interested in dog training. It did not take long for me to realize that not all problems can be resolved with love. Kye was a fear biter, Lilli was feral a broken soul, Hays an anxious fear biter assessed to be euthanized. With dedication, education, and patience I was able to give them evolved, healthy, and socially enriched lives gaining an undeniable bond with them.

I am often surprised and humbled by the resiliency of the canine species.

I am PPDT certified in Professional Pet Dog Training. This certification is held with Good Dog Academy in Vancouver, BC, with Director of Training Jamie Knowles, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA. I have studied with The Academy for Dog Trainers online course Dog Training 101 with Jean Donaldson, I have earned certificates in Scent Work, Canine Enrichment, and Calming Techniques. The importance of continuing education and training techniques is crucial within the ever-evolving dog training industry. I continue to regularly upgrade my education with seminars, webinars, classes, and online courses.

My certifications specialize in the knowledge rooted in the scientific principles of dog training. This science and evidence-based method of positive reinforcement (force free) reward-based training is proven dependable and effective. This method of training uses positive reinforcement or reward to increase the probability that the behaviors (sit, down, stay) will be repeated when asked. This training excludes aversive methods of using fear or pain stimuli to gain the desired result. Achieving success with operant and classical conditioning, critical thinking, shaping, capturing behavior, and theory ensures a well-rounded method of training to achieve well mannered, socialized, and happy canine companions.

I offer the education and skills to help you better understand your canine’s communication and behaviors. The end goal is a bonded partnership between you and your canine companions.

With Life Tracks Training, you, and your dog benefit from the best and most up-to-date techniques in dog training today.
